The Fire Department assembled on Sunday April 1st, 2007 to honor former Fire Department Physician Doc Arnold for his years of service to our organization. We conducted a short ceremony in the foyer followed by a reception in our meeting room. The ceremony was well attended by members and officers of the Fire Department, Ladies Auxiliary, Police Department, Parks and Recreation and Board of Finance. Those who spoke at the event were, Fire Chief Paul Perrotti, Health Director Dr. Maurice Falk, Selectman Elaine M.R. Strobel, Acting Police Chief Richard Guisti, Grandson and former Lieutenant. Ryan Brainard, and Doc Arnold. Former Chiefs Richard Nicol, and Edmond Bailly were also in attendance, as were former Deputy Chiefs Robert Desmarais and Robert Dawes. Unfortunately, First Selectman Edward B St. John never received the two invitations that were sent to him, and was not in attendance.
