Neil Perrotti cooked a great feast for members of the MVFD for the Annual Summer Picnic back in August.

New EMT class started at Fire Headquarters on September 10th with 32 EMT students attending the first class. Chief Perrotti welcomes the new EMT students.

Middlebury Volunteer Fire Department member and former Chief of the Department, Richard H. Nicol was inducted into the Connecticut State Firefighters Association Hall Of Fame. The ceremony was held at the Aqua Turf in Southington, Connecticut. Rich was one of 12 other firefighters to receive this high honor. The event was attendant by approximate 800 firefighters, their families, and friends.

Rich has been a member of the Department for 52 years joining in 1967.  He is a past Lieutenant, past Captain, past Drill Master, past Deputy Chief, past Chief, Commissioner on Fire Prevention and Control (Senior Member), a member of the CT State Firefighters Education Committee, member of the CT State Firefighters Instructors Association, member of the CT Fire Chief's Association,  member of the New Haven County Fire Chief's Association, member and past President of the Waterbury Area Fire Chief's Association, and member and past President of the CT Parade Marshals Association.

Besides Rich's family members and friends of the MVFD, also attending the event were Chief Paul Perrotti, Deputy Chief Tony Bruno, Deputy Chief Brett Kales, Lt. Jim Redway, former Chief Ed Bailly, former Deputy Chief Bob Dawes, Secretary John Jungen, Treasurer Gregg Perrin, Engineer/Operator Dave Bunnell, Firefighter John Polmon, Firefighter Nick Santos, Ladies Auxiliary members Jean Dawes and Liza Redway,  First Selectman and former Chief Ed St. John, Selectman Ralph Barra, and Honorary Member Malcolm Todd.

It was a great dinner with excellent service and a fun evening for all who attended.  The Department congratulates Chief Nicol for this great achievement.       Photos by Dave Bunnell.
